Commercial Writing

Here is a short example of my writing for commercials! It is a hypothetical commercial about a collaboration between Salvation Army and North Face, hope you like it!

Scene 1: Open on a coat rack with three spots, two belong to children and the other to their mother. The girls run in from stage right, put on their jackets and rush out the door on stage left.

Older Girl: "Bye Mom!"

Scene 2: Continued shot on the coat rack. Two slightly older and taller girls run into frame from stage left. They hang their coats and run stage right.

Younger Girl: "Hi Mom!"

Scene 3: Continued shot on the coat rack. The kids run in from stage right, slightly older and taller again. Their jackets are a little too small.

Both Girls: "Mom!"

Mom comes in from stage right. She grabs her purse and the three leave.

Scene 4: Continued shot on the coat rack. All three walk in with new jackets, putting them on the hooks. The old jackets lie on the bench. Exit stage right.

Scene 5: The mom walks by with a box from Salvation Army and puts the old jackets into the box.

Fade to black

Scene 6: Fade in on a mom & daughter on a cold street against a gray building. They are wearing the previous families jackets. The daughter is sleeping on her mom's lap.

City noises playing in the background

Scene 7: The original mom walks past the homeless family. The mom puts some money into their cu, smiling at the other mom. She smiles back.

Fade to black

Scene 8: Fade in on North Face and Salvation Army logos.
Narrator: "Donate your gently used jackets to any North Face store to bring some warmth to other families this winter."
