Journal # 4 - Corporate Emails
Do your emails seem lack-luster as of late? Do you feel as if nobody pays attention to the important information you try and give them? Have no fear! I am here with a few tips on writing corporate emails that will definitely get people's attention.
Start with a short greeting!
One or two sentences will be good enough. Talk about the weather, or a recent success at your company!
In the next paragraph tell them your purpose for sending the email. Keep it down to 3-4 sentences. Make sure to put important information like dates or numbers into italics or bold. Don't capitalize points unless you would actually scream those in a meeting. After all, meetings can typically be summarized into emails.
Do you have finer details about the topic you just discussed? Make a new paragraph and put the finer things here. If people have a question they will probably comb through this section, but if its not extremely important, put it together down here. I like to make these things bullet points, they just seem easier to read And again, try to keep it to 6 sentences at the most.
Summarize what you talked about, if there are less important dates that are still relevant put them in the conclusion.
Sign off with your name, company seal/title, etc.
