Journal #3 - Marketing Emails
Marketing emails! It can be quite tricky to come up with interesting content every week. Lucky for you, I can help!
When it comes to marketing emails, less is more. Many people are more likely to open an email that they see once a week, maybe even less, rather than one you see everyday. That's probably because you aren't used to seeing the name, so it makes you pause to actually see who it is.
Anyways, having catchy subjects are also a good way to catch your recipients attention. It could possibly talk about a sale going on or special event/offer.
Here you see a proposed news letter for jellysplatt.com! It is geared towards parents with younger children, so it is quite colorful.
Because it is also Valentines Day themed, all of the graphics include shades of red and correlating emoticons. There are 3 main sections, the top being about valentines day, the bottom left describes a service that is offered, and the bottom right is a recipe of the week (which you can also find on this site!). The descriptions are short and simple because each picture was actually a link back to this website!
The best people to send your marketing emails are also the ones that you have built a connection with! In order to build that trust, the emails shouldn't be trying to force a product. Putting in little quips about your product or a few fun facts can bring a sense of humor that builds relationships!
Being able to give something in return, e.x. a recipe, also helps build trust. It shows that you use your product as well, it's not just about the sales.
